Configure automatic and manual search suggestions
Help shoppers enter queries with Indexa suggestions: minimum characters, limits, automatic sources, manual phrases and language-specific order.
Automatic suggestions and limits
Open “Widget → Search suggestions”, enable suggestions and set the maximum number shown. Suggestions appear after at least two characters. Enable the automatic sources you need: successful repeated searches, catalog products or categories.
Query-based suggestions use repeated searches that found products during the last 365 days. A new store may not yet have enough searches for them. Save and test a partial query in each catalog language.
Manual phrases and order
Select the language in “Manual suggestions”, add clear phrases and drag them into the desired order. Save changes. Manual suggestions take priority over automatic ones; the overall suggestion limit still applies. Test each phrase to make sure it leads to useful catalog results.
