How to add smart search to BigCommerce

Prepare the catalog and code#

   Connect your product feed in Indexa and wait for the catalog to load.

   In “Widget → Integration”, enter the website URL and copy the universal code.

Before installation#

Before publishing, check your storefront's Script Manager support and choose the script category according to your consent settings.

Add the search code to BigCommerce#

   Open “Storefront → Script Manager” and create a new script.

   Name it Indexa. Select “Head” as the location and “Storefront Pages” as the pages.

   Choose “Script” and paste the complete universal code, including the script tags, into “Script contents”.

   Choose the category that matches your consent settings, then save and publish.

Check search after installation#

Open your store, then use “Check installation” in Indexa. Select the desktop and mobile search elements and save.

Search for a product, follow its link and close the widget. Repeat on the home, category and product pages.

Test search on your Stencil or Catalyst storefront. Script Manager is not supported for Blueprint; use a method appropriate to that storefront.
