How to add smart search to PrestaShop
Connect search to PrestaShop through a global code field or your theme's head template.
Prepare the catalog and code
Connect your product feed in Indexa and wait for the catalog to load.
In “Widget → Integration”, enter the website URL and copy the universal code.
Through a module or theme setting
If your module or theme provides a global HTML field in head, paste the complete Indexa code there.
Field names vary. It must accept HTML with a script tag and apply to all required pages.
If you edit your theme
In the Classic theme for PrestaShop 1.7/8/9, the head partial is commonly themes/THEME_NAME/templates/_partials/head.tpl. Prefer a copy in your child theme.
Add the Indexa script to this partial. Do not add an extra pair of head tags: the surrounding layout already supplies them.
Save and clear the cache in “Advanced Parameters → Performance”. For a different theme structure, ask the theme provider where to place the code.
Example for head.tpl
<!-- Existing header content remains above -->
<script async src="INDEXA_LOADER_URL_FROM_DASHBOARD"></script>
Check search after installation
Open your store, then use “Check installation” in Indexa. Select the desktop and mobile search elements and save.
Search for a product, follow its link and close the widget. Repeat on the home, category and product pages.
After a theme update, check that the code is still present and that search opens.
