How to add smart search to 1C-Bitrix / Bitrix

Prepare the catalog and code#

   Connect your product feed in Indexa and wait for the catalog to load.

   In “Widget → Integration”, enter the website URL and copy the universal code.

Before installation#

This guide covers the 1C-Bitrix store CMS, not Bitrix24. Choose an installation method available in your theme and administration panel.

Add the search code to 1C-Bitrix / Bitrix#

   If the theme has a global field for code in head, paste the complete Indexa script there.

   Otherwise, ask your site maintainer to add the code to header.php in /local/templates/TEMPLATE_NAME/ or /bitrix/templates/TEMPLATE_NAME/.

   Back up the template and add the script before </head>, preserving the existing template code and system calls.

   Save the changes and clear the Bitrix and theme cache.

Check search after installation#

Open your store, then use “Check installation” in Indexa. Select the desktop and mobile search elements and save.

Search for a product, follow its link and close the widget. Repeat on the home, category and product pages.

If different pages use different templates, check that the code is present in each required template.
