How to customize your store's search widget

Choose a template#

Open “Widget → Appearance”. INDEXA displays search with category navigation on the left; Light provides compact results with categories below.

Choose the option that makes your catalog easiest for shoppers to browse.

Colors, sizes and texts#

Set the background, text, accent, border and product-name colors. Make sure the text is readable on the chosen background.

Sizes, panel width and top spacing can be set separately for desktop and mobile. Check both after saving.

Check suggestions and other texts in each language. Changing the displayed currency symbol does not convert product prices.

Suggestions before entering a query#

Use “Widget → Functionality” for popular searches, visitor history and voice input. Typing suggestions have their own page: “Widget → Search suggestions”. Configure each store language and test the links and suggested phrases.

When there are no results#

Configure localized messages and contact channels on “Widget → Zero Results Page”. Save and test a query with no matches, including contact links on mobile.
